We are always looking for new ideas so if you have somewhere in mind that you think would make an interesting visit please let the Secretary know (contact details at the foot of this page). As many of our visits incorporate a group meal we are also open to suggestions for lunch venues.
We do need participants to book for the walks and visits, especially if you would like to have lunch. Further details are available to download from here.

LIHS Heritage Day Swannington. More details HERE. |
Saturday 5th June |
Cropston Reservoir. A visit to the Waterworks followed by a walk and lunch at The Badgers Sett, Cropston. Meet at Severn Trent HQ Cropston 9.45. |

Open Days at Calfat Colliery Excavation for Festival of British Archaeology |
Saturday14th August |
Visit to Kibworth windmill. Meet at Windmill Farm, Kibworth at 12 noon. There is an optional walk along the canal before this and the mill visit will be followed by lunch at the Coach and Horses, Kibworth. |
Sunday5th September |
Walk along the Cromford Canal from Amergate to Cromford. Meet at Ambergate Station carpark (free), walk to Cromford (about 5 miles), have lunch in Cromford and catch to train back to Ambergate. |
